Who are we? Best China Info! Why?
Because we’re genuine. Authentic.

Our chief editor and writer Barrie VVeiss( 白矛 ) was born in England in the the not-so-united schmingdom, worked for the uk’s largest circulation daily newspaper for six years.. and he’s done quite a few other things.. too humorous to mention right now..  He moved to China in 2014 and has been very happy, safe and free ever since.. He considers himself a creative, optimistic, critical, whimsical and perspicacious ‘man of the world’.

China Blog..? Well yes.. quite..

We’ve looked at many blogs, ‘China-centric’ sites and portals.. my opinion (B) is that most are of little practical use at best, inaccurate, outdated ‘cut and paste’, or downright misinformation at worst. They tend to fall into two categories:
1: The commercial blog which is blatantly trying to ‘shift product’
and serve only as a way to sell *advertising space.. and
2. The ‘know-it-all’, ‘been there, done that’; ‘Why can’t China be more like my country?

So. Why is ‘Best China Info’ different?
Precisely because of the previous statement!
Arriving in China and scouring the internet for useful blogs and guides to life in China we found there really weren’t so many of much use, and very few that felt ‘real’, genuine.. such is the ‘blogosphere’, everyone wants to be a ‘digital nomad’ these daze.. hard to sort the grain from the chaff.. and there’s more chaff than grain..

That’s why we decided to create what we sincerely hope will be a useful guide; based on years of experience and knowledge gained as a ‘man of the world’, now living in China.

We should note that there are, of course, some useful, informative, entertaining channels of news, views and information about China around now, and the link above is a good start for our ‘Best of China’ blogs articles and posts.

  1. Hello Bro,
Have to say I like your site(?) and with all of the China hate currently flying around the ‘western’ media this is needed. I loved China when I was there and my experiences relayed to you ‘may’ have had some influence on your actions. I do know that when you asked me if you should go I gave you an unequivocal yes. And now…. I am very jealous, wish I was back there instead of here in Australia.
Btw you should have a like button on your site 🙂

  2. hiya bruv! Happy to hear from ye and happy to see your comment on the site! Yes it’s mine (ours) And yes I wanted to create some kind of international ‘China hub’ for the discerning and to go some way to counter the bs agitprop! I remember the unequivocal yes of course! As for coming back to China from Oz.. Why don’t you? Set up the farm down Guangxi way! Site’s a Work in progress so buttons aplenty in due course!
